Trainee Laboratory Analyst

Location:
2 roles in either -  Greater Manchester, Daventry, Hamilton or Plymouth

The Role:

As part of a robust tyraining program the successul candidates will work towards ensuring that all bulks are analysed to meet agreed KPI`s and SLAs, with all record keeping associated with this function ensuring the company delivers services effectively profitably and in full accordance with Ensafe Consultants policies, procedures and quality systems. Full Training will be provided

Main Responsibilities:

  • Undertake the bulk analysis of asbestos samples in line with agreed time scales and following the strict quality guidelines as instructed by the Laboratory Manager and assist in ensuring that all Laboratory staff are following these procedures. Produce all formal certificates relating to analysis and to fulfil any administrative tasks to produce the formal reports as deemed necessary by the Laboratory Manager.
  • Attend quarterly quality meetings on rota and assist the Laboratory Manager in the provision of relevant management information.
  • Ensure that established Health and Safety protocols specific to the Laboratory are followed.
  • To support the administrative function of the Laboratory under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager ensuring all records are maintained and updated as required. This will include, spread sheets, word documents, certificates and purchase orders as required.
  • Undertake analysis of air tests following appropriate training.
  • Assist in client liaison when individual batches of samples are delivered to Ensafe Consultants for analysis; ensure the correct paperwork and job files are completed in line with company procedure.
  • Participate in maintaining Health and Safety records for the Laboratory, notably the COSHH system as required by the Laboratory Manager and Health & Safety Department.
  • Ensure that Laboratory working environment, including all associated equipment is maintained and cleaned in line with strict quality procedures.
  • Complete monthly QC.
  • Assisting in the maintenance and development of Ensafe Consultants Quality system to ISO17020 and ISO17025 standards (and any additional standards that are identified as suitable. This includes all UKAS accreditation and HSE licence to work with asbestos).
  • Participate in any technical investigations or anomaly resolution as required by the Laboratory Manager and Quality & Compliance Director. Ensure that any correction actions are followed and incorporated into daily processes

Education and Qualifications:

  • GCSE Level 6 in Maths, English and a Science based subject or equivalent

Experience:

  • No experience necessary as full training will be provided
