Are you at risk of asbestos exposure?

Who is most at risk of exposure to asbestos?

I think it would be natural to point straight at construction-related Jobs such as Joiners, Plumbers, Welders, Electricians, and Maintenance Staff, but given these industries are heavily regulated and training is regularly carried out, then it could be that they are less at risk than you would think. On the other hand, we have occupations such as; Doctors and Medical Staff, Librarians, Cleaners, Retail Staff, Landscapers, Firefighters, and the DIY enthusiasts who perhaps haven't been provided the same level of knowledge to spot the dangers. Consequently, their family members are also at risk from secondhand exposure to asbestos as well.

Asbestos awareness training

Did you know that it is a legal requirement?

The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 stipulates that there is a specific requirement for any person who may come into contact with asbestos to have asbestos awareness training. Asbestos awareness training is not only required for trades personnel but it is also required for all persons who might influence their work. This may include their managers, supervisors, and line managers. It may also include the building manager and client instructing these types of works.
